Interface DescribeLogOffsetsHandle

public interface DescribeLogOffsetsHandle
Handle for the DescribeLogOffsets API: returns the important per-replica log offsets (tier start/end, local log start, log start, last stable, recovery point, high watermark, log end) for partitions of a topic hosted on this broker. Intended for incident triage.

Each returned row is snapshotted under the partition's leader-ISR read lock so the (logStart, LEO, HWM, LSO) 4-tuple plus the surrounding offsets are mutually consistent w.r.t. leader/ISR changes. Tier offsets are read separately and may skew relative to the local offsets when uploads are in flight — acceptable for a diagnostic tool, but callers must not use these values to drive correctness decisions.

      DescribeLogOffsetsResponse describeLogOffsets(String topic, List<Integer> partitions)
      Describe log offsets for the requested topic-partitions hosted on this broker.
      Parameters:
      topic - the topic to describe; must not be null
      partitions - the partition ids to describe; if null or empty, no partitions are described and the response contains an empty replicas list. Callers are expected to supply an explicit partition list (the CLI resolves it via AdminClient before fanning out).
      Returns:
      a response containing one row per requested partition. Partitions not hosted on this broker are reported as error rows (offset fields null) rather than throwing.
